In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • Unbeatable metro access — Parque metro station is literally across the street, making it quick and easy to reach central Lisbon and the main sights.
  • Helpful, friendly staff — Guests repeatedly note the staff's helpfulness, from arranging early taxis to keeping lost items.
  • Quiet for the city centre — Rooms facing away from the avenue are described as pretty quiet, offering a peaceful night despite the central location.
  • Good breakfast included — The continental breakfast features fresh rolls, ham, breads, cheese and good coffee, served in a spacious dining room.

Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Value rating is lower than other categories — While many guests find it good value, the Value rating sits at 6.9, the lowest category score, suggesting some feel the price-to-comfort ratio could be better.
  • Rooms can get hot — Even in late May, a guest found the room very hot and was glad of the air conditioning – so in warmer months you'll likely rely on the AC.
  • No pets allowed — The property does not accept pets, so you'll need to make other arrangements if travelling with an animal.
  • Limited amenities for the price — It's a no-frills stay – no pool, gym or on-site restaurant beyond a snack bar – which may not suit those expecting more for the nightly rate.

“Breakfast has fresh rolls and ham, for example.”

“Great spot opposite the Metro. Staff are friendly and speak English. The room was clean and comfortable, and the continental breakfast in the spacious dining room was good.”

7.4Verified guest

“Good value for the price. The best part was the location – opposite Parque metro station, which gets you into central Lisbon quickly and regularly. The desk staff were helpful, e.g. ordering an early taxi and packing a snack for the airport instead of breakfast. The room was fine and, facing away from the avenue, pretty quiet. The energy-saving corridor lighting was a nice touch. Glad of the air conditioning because the room got very hot – and this was only end of May. Overall, a good no-frills place; we'd recommend it.”

7.4Verified guest

“The location is excellent for the Metro – immediately opposite – with easy access to the centre and sights. There's a lovely park opposite for relaxing, with great views over Lisbon. My room, though simple, was large and very quiet with cool breezes, so I didn't need the air conditioning. The bathroom was relatively new with plenty of hot water. The staff were very helpful, even finding and keeping an item of clothing I'd left. Good value for money; I return at least once a year.”

“I really liked the hotel staff – very helpful and kind. The location was extremely good, making it very easy to reach the important parts of the city.”
